BNL today is the 6th largest Italian Banking Corporation, and 60th in Europe, 100th in the world. With 94 years of history, 17,000 employees, the trust of 3 million personal-finance clients and 39,000 business clients, BNL is among the most noted brands in Italy.
In 2006, following the close of the Public Purchase Offer by BNP Paribas, BNL entered a large international group present in France as well as in 85 other countries.
Today, BNP Paribas has complete control over BNL’s ordinary business capital, and directly keeps some of the shares (including those of the savings management company, Locafit, the leasing company, and BNL Life), once managed by BNL.
The entrance into the BNP Paribas Group has re-launched BNL as a major competitor in the Italian market. The move helped join the bank’s historical legacy in Italy with the expertise of a large international group. This means that today BNL takes on the role of a multi-faceted company offering financial products and services, while at the same time acting as BNP Paribas’ representative in Italy. BNL offers a complete line of banking, financial, and insurance products and services from the most traditional to the most innovative, aimed at meeting the needs of a broad range of clients. These are segmented by market: retail and personal finance, corporate and public sector.
Today, BNL’s new logo and the BNP Paribas Group slogan – The bank for a changing world – best express this new wealth of options, and are a confirmation of its intent to pursue change and innovation for a new BNL.
